Virus , Worms , Trojans :
Viruses, worms and Trojan Horses are all malicious programs that can cause damage to your computer, but there are differences among the three. The most common blunder people make when the topic of a computer virus arises is to refer to a worm or Trojan horse as a virus. While the words Trojan, worm and virus are often used interchangeably, they are not exactly the same. Viruses, worms and Trojan Horses are all malicious programs that can cause damage to your computer, but there are differences among the three, and knowing those differences can help you to better protect your computer from their often damaging effects.

VIRUS( Vital Information Resources Under Siege ) :
A computer virus attaches itself to a program or file enabling it to spread from one computer to another, leaving infections as it travels. Like a human virus, a computer virus can range in severity: some may cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files.A program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Viruses can also replicate themselves. All computer viruses are manmade. A simple virus that can make a copy of itself over and over again is relatively easy to produce. Even such a simple virus is dangerous because it will quickly use all available memory and bring the system to a halt. An even more dangerous type of virus is one capable of transmitting itself across networks and bypassing security systems.Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it actually cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. It is important to note that a virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going.People continue the spread of a computer virus, mostly unknowingly, by sharing infecting files or sending e-mails with viruses as attachments in the e-mail.

WORM :
A worm is a special type of virus that can replicate itself and use memory, but cannot attach itself to other programs.A worm is similar to a virus by design and is considered to be a sub-class of a virus. Worms spread from computer to computer, but unlike a virus, it has the capability to travel without any human action. A worm takes advantage of file or information transport features on your system, which is what allows it to travel unaided. The biggest danger with a worm is its capability to replicate itself on your system, so rather than your computer sending out a single worm, it could send out hundreds or thousands of copies of itself, creating a huge devastating effect. One example would be for a worm to send a copy of itself to everyone listed in your e-mail address book. Then, the worm replicates and sends itself out to everyone listed in each of the receiver's address book, and the manifest continues on down the line.Due to the copying nature of a worm and its capability to travel across networks the end result in most cases is that the worm consumes too much system memory (or network bandwidth), causing Web servers, network servers and individual computers to stop responding.

Note: In recent worm attacks such as the much-talked-about Blaster Worm, the worm has been designed to tunnel into your system and allow malicious users to control your computer remotely.

TROJAN Horse :
A Trojan Horse is full of as much trickery as the mythological Trojan Horse it was named after.
U might be knowing the Trojan Horse story. Right?
The Trojan Horse, at first glance will appear to be useful software but will actually do damage once installed or run on your computer. Those on the receiving end of a Trojan Horse are usually tricked into opening them because they appear to be receiving legitimate software or files from a legitimate source.
When a Trojan is activated on your computer, the results can vary.
Some Trojans are designed to be more annoying than malicious (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or they can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a backdoor on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised.

Important : Unlike viruses and worms, Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.

Facebook virus

I won't say not to use facebook.
Coz i also have a facebook account.
But all these hackers/perverts are taking advantage of these social networking sites.
Beware of the online games that tou see in facebook.
It sometimes gives a pop up where in if you click on that, infections will start entering.
And once a single infection enters, then i hope u got my point.
Yes....! it will not stay calm.
Like humans, they also like friends.
So they keep inviting their friends, family and their relatives an what not????

So the infection that enters into comp when u use facebook is called as KoobFace infection and its very easy to kill it but when we see a symptom of this, we need to take action. Otherwise it will seriously invite spywares.

Different types of BUGS

We can say a common word to define these viruses,worms,trojans,rootkits,...... as MALWARE 's.
Few common viruses can attack your computer very badly
Even though most of the viruses are caught by anti viruses few are not.....

Few viruses that can trouble you & your computer would be:

OPRAH WINFREY VIRUS: Your 200MB hard drive suddenly shrinks to 80MB, and then slowly expands back to 200MB.
AT&T VIRUS: Every three minutes it tells you what great service you are getting.
PAUL REVERE VIRUS: This revolutionary virus does not horse around. It warns you of impending hard disk attack---once if by LAN, twice if by C:>.
POLITICALLY CORRECT VIRUS: Never calls itself a "virus", but instead refers to itself as an "electronic microorganism."
RIGHT TO LIFE VIRUS: Won't allow you to delete a file, regardless of how old it is. If you attempt to erase a file, it requires you to first see a counselor about possible alternatives.
MARIO CUOMO VIRUS: It would be a great virus, but it refuses to run.
TED TURNER VIRUS: Colorizes your monochrome monitor.Especially play around with the screen resolution.
GOVERNMENT ECONOMIST VIRUS: Nothing works, but all your diagnostic software says everything is fine.
FEDERAL BUREAUCRAT VIRUS: Divides your hard disk into hundreds of little units, each of which does practically nothing, but all of which claim to be the most important part of your computer.
TEXAS VIRUS: Makes sure that it's bigger than any other file. Will b a huge file wherin you cannot delete that file.
CONGRESSIONAL VIRUS: The computer locks up, screen splits erratically with a message appearing on each half blaming the other side for the problem.
PBS VIRUS: Your programs stop every few minutes to ask for money.
OLLIE NORTH VIRUS: Causes your printer to become a paper shredder.
CONGRESSIONAL VIRUS #2: Runs every program on the hard drive simultaneously, but doesn't allow the user to accomplish anything.
KEVORKIAN VIRUS: Helps your computer shut down as an act of mercy.

Whereas if a spywere attacks your computer, then your antiviruses will become a zombie.
They will tell that there are "NO BUGS"
But those BUGS will show their presense & you can feel it as well.
Don't think that anyone can remove these things.
Its absolutely WRoNG !
There are viruses that can eat thechies brains as well and they will end up formatting their comp.
To be frank, this happened to me as well.
I worked for 3 branded/well known antivirus companies as a virus removal technician.
That doesn't means that i'm the MAN.
Few viruses can break your head Just Lyk Dat.
He Heeee Heeeeeee!!!!

Getting started : A - Z virus removal / handling tools

www.sarathpraj.webs.com

The above site is developed by me and contains very efficient virus removal tools.
Most of the tools are very easy to use where as for few tools, need to do a few research before using it such as Autoruns, Avenger, . . . .
Any which ways i've given discription each & every tool how to use it.
All of the tools are freewares and few downloading links maynot work.
You can surf in google and download it.
